Dr. Freeman is taken out of stasis by his "employer" to help rid the planet of invading aliens forces known as the Combine that entered through the portals he helped create. Years after the Black Mesa Incident (from the original Half Life game), the mysterious G-Man summons Gordon Freeman from his induced slumber. Placing him on a train, Gordon finds himself in "City 17", one of an unknown number of 'urban centers,' where humans are kept in an Orwellian pseudo-slavery by a mysterious alien race known as the Combine. City 17, possibly located in eastern Europe, is overseen by Dr. Breen, a former administrator of Black Mesa who, after arranging the surrender of Earth to the Combine, was rewarded with a leadership position. Humans are now half-way oppressed by themselves. Prisons, concentration camps and urban centers alike are controlled by the Combine Overwatch, members of a somewhat voluntary military in which participation is rewarded with various benefits such as with better living conditions. People are also attracted to it because they would like to feel like being part of something greater then themselves, and also because they can get away with physically abusing, tormenting, and killing the civilians. A resistance stirs in the shadows… a large system of underground railroads are in place. The populace is on the edge of total rebellion. What they need is a little inspiration, and a little push, and Gordon Freeman may be just the man to provide it… Although half life 2 doesn't really bring anything new to FPS, everything it does do it exceeds in.

GRAPHICS: Half life 2 probably has the best in game graphics seen in any video game up to-date. Half life unlike other doesn't hide behind lighting effects or or anything to make the game look better, everything is right there for you to see clearly. So pretty much everything you see in this game some is amazing.

GAMEPLAY: Game play is one of the best thing that half life 2 does. Almost every object of every size can be moved, making what you do have a big effect on your environment around you and making fighting enemies much more interesting.

Overall this is one of the best games you can play up to-date but there something about it that doesn't give it the same feel as the original. This truly is the best game ever made.

First of all, for it's time it had AMAZING graphics, and the Source engine is still powerful enough to have the same graphics as all new next-gen games! The audio is great, the story is great, the gameplay is great, the dialouges are great, everything is GREAT!

The first scene in Half Life 2 is truly a great time in gaming history. You can feel the atmosphere of terror, fear and corruption as you exit the train and enters City 17.

From the very beginning to the last seconds of the game you will hopefully enjoy playing it as much as i did.

If you love First Person Shooters, you will love Half Life 2.
